Chase Cowan – Defenseman for a cause

Team Captain. First Team All-State. Champion All-American. Defensive Player of the Year. Senior Class President. Three Time State Champion. These are just a few of the career highlights of Chase Cowan. A team can not achieve National Recognition with out a team of dedicated, talented and hard working athletes. Chase was one of the integral, relentless defensive players that led Salesianum to their third consecutive state championship while also playing the toughest schedule in history to break the top 20 in national rankings. His presence on the field was felt by every opponent attempting to come close to the goal.

Chase’s passion for his school and his lacrosse team led him to insist there had to be more that could be done for the Savannah Strong foundation. Savannah Strong is a cause that is near and dear to the heart of every coach, player, fan & parent of Salesianum Lacrosse. Just as Chase does not stand on the sidelines at the game, he refused to stand on the sidelines and wait for someone else to do more. Chase wanted to bring more awareness and raise more money for childhood cancer and Savannah Strong. He brought that to life in his now infamous, Savannah Tie. The Savannah Tie is a direct reflection of a Salesian Gentleman and his passion for a cause. The tie showcases the beloved pink turtle which is the iconic symbol of Savannah Strong. Chase has raised money for more than 2 years by selling the ties at games, school, The Pink Turtle boutique and on the website The website Chase created just to showcase the tie and tell the story of how it came to fruition.

Chase started his collegiate career this fall at Colgate University where he will continue to play lacrosse. His talents will be sorely missed on the Sallies field next season, but we are excited to see what this next chapter in Chase’s life holds for him. We produced Chase’s recruitment film in 2011 and this year, as his senior year came to a close, his parents requested a cinematic highlight of the last two years. They wanted a keepsake of his junior and senior year that they could use to enjoy and relive those exciting moments of his high school career. We at Nkognito would like to thank Chase and his family for letting us do our small part for his recruitment process and for allowing us to produce this keepsake for you. It has been a pleasure working with you all and we look forward to doing so again in the future. Please enjoy this cinematic two year highlight of one of the top defensemen to play high school lacrosse.

Road Trip – Sallies takes Ohio

Travel is always part of the job. Home games, away games, cross town games, its all travel and to get anything done some sort of road trip is involved. Last week we loaded up the cooler, packed down the Durango with equipment and hit the road for the longest road trip for an “away” game we have done to date.  Six hours may sound far to some, or sound not so bad to others. For us at Nkognito it was never a question, we were following our school to Ohio no matter what the drive.  In creating the season highlight like we do, you can not pass up an opportunity for a road trip like this.  There are too many things to capture and take in, memories & moments to preserve for the team, coaches & parents.  Now the ride, well it could have been better, I mean 4 hrs of rain in a 6 hr trip is a little depressingly nerve racking.
Salesianum football traveled to Steubenville, Ohio to take on the “Big Red” in their homecoming game.  Steubenville was 69-4 at home prior to Salesianum’s visit!  The atmosphere was almost electric.  An incredible stadium with a strong hometown following was packed for this game.  Salesianum themselves are never short on support.  A fan bus traveled 6 hrs to be there for the game.  Lots of Parents & some students came to support their players on the road.  Coming off a loss in Brooklyn to Poly Prep the week before, Sallies went to Steubenville with one goal in mind.  Winning!!  They accomplished just that in 36 – 19 victory that Friday night!  The boys arrived Thursday night to ensure rest and preparation for this road game.
Nkognito Productions was there to capture it all.  From arrival to departure!  Check out the highlight we created from the trip to Steubenville.  We would like to thank the Steubenville Athletic Director, Lynn Meyer as well as the staff at 106.3 The River radio station.  When we called out to Steubenville the week of the game to get information and permission for early access, broadcast rights, everyone we came into contact with was more than accommodating.  Everyone was extremely helpful and willing to give us whatever we needed to do what we do.  Thanks Steubenville, it was a great time.  Thanks to the Salesianum Football team, coaches, & parents for allowing us to be a part of your season and this game, and for allowing us to preserve these memories for you all for a lifetime.
Hope you all enjoy this highlight, Sallies takes Ohio!!
